In November 2024, Fiji celebrated the achievements of its business community with the Prime Minister’s International Business Awards (PMIBA). This prestigious event, organized by Investment Fiji, recognized businesses that have demonstrated excellence, innovation, and sustainability in their operations.
The theme for the 2024 awards was “Business Innovation and Sustainability”, highlighting the importance of these elements in reshaping business strategies for the future. The awards ceremony took place on November 30, 2024, at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva, where Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and other dignitaries honored the winners.
Prime Minister Rabuka commended the business community for its pivotal role in advancing Fiji’s socioeconomic development. He emphasised the importance of resilience, diversification, and sustainable practices in driving economic growth. The awards recognised businesses across various sectors, including agribusiness, fisheries, forestry, and e-commerce, among others.
One of the standout winners was Motibhai & Company, which received the Supreme Award for its exceptional contributions to the economy. Other notable winners included Vodafone Fiji, which won the Excellence in E-Commerce Transformation Award, and Pacific Fishing Company, which received the Excellence in Fisheries Award.
The PMIBA also introduced four new categories this year: Excellence in Employer Award, Excellence in Fisheries Award, Excellence in Forestry Award, and Excellence in Yasana (Provincial) Aspiration Award. These new categories reflect the government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment and promoting sustainable development.
The event not only celebrated the achievements of the winners but also provided a platform for businesses to share best practices and learn from each other. Workshops and networking sessions were held, offering participants valuable insights into the latest trends and strategies in business management.

- Tower Insurance, which won the Employer of The Year Award.
- Fiji National Provident Fund, which received the Excellence in Employer Award.
- Marine & Civil Maintenance (Fiji) Pte Limited, which won the Excellence in Innovation Award.
- Duco Consultancy Pte Limited, which received the Excellence in Outsourcing Award.
- Rosie Travel Group, which won the Excellence in Service Award.
- Mr. Kiritbhai Patel, who received the Executive of The Year Award.
- Tropik Wood Industries Limited, which won the Excellence in Forestry Award.
- Tailevu Holdings Company Pte Ltd, which received the Excellence in Yasana (Provincial) Aspiration Award.
- Essence Group (Fiji) Pte Limited, which won the Premier Small Business Operating Internationally Award.
- Food Processors (Fiji) Pte Ltd, which received the Premier Medium Business Operating Internationally Award.
- Motibhai & Company Limited, which won the Premier Large Business Operating Internationally Award.
