Australian companies seeking to expand into the Pacific infrastructure market will have direct access to government agencies, multilateral lenders and project partners when Austrade leads its 2026 Pacific Infrastructure Roadshow across three major cities in March.
Supported by the Australian Government’s Accessing New Markets Initiative, the roadshow is designed to strengthen industry visibility of what officials describe as a significantly expanding infrastructure pipeline across the Pacific Islands. Projects span transport, energy, telecommunications, water, climate resilience and defence-related works — sectors that have attracted increased financing from development partners and international lenders in recent years.
The 2026 programme will bring together representatives from Austrade, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Department of Defence, Export Finance Australia, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. Together, they will outline funding mechanisms, procurement processes and upcoming project opportunities across Pacific economies.
The in-person briefings will be structured to encourage engagement, allowing Australian engineering firms, contractors, professional services providers and investors to ask detailed questions about risk allocation, financing structures and partnership models. A networking afternoon tea will follow each session, giving participants the opportunity to connect directly with project financiers and potential delivery partners.
The roadshow will visit Brisbane on 23 March, Sydney on 24 March and Melbourne on 25 March. Last year’s programme sold out in all three cities, reflecting heightened interest among Australian firms in Pacific infrastructure opportunities amid growing regional investment and strategic engagement.
For businesses considering entry into Pacific markets, the event offers insight into how multilateral development bank financing works, how projects are prioritised, and how Australian suppliers can position themselves within competitive procurement environments.
With Pacific governments advancing major infrastructure upgrades and resilience programmes, the roadshow underscores Canberra’s intent to ensure Australian industry remains well-informed and actively engaged in the region’s development pipeline. Registration is open, with limited places available.
