Tourism Fiji has marked a record-breaking year in 2024, achieving unprecedented growth across social media, website traffic, and user engagement. The organisation’s strong digital performance has reinforced Fiji’s position as a premier global travel destination, surpassing key targets and significantly increasing global awareness.
With over one million followers across social media platforms, Tourism Fiji expanded its reach, leveraging digital marketing to drive engagement. A major milestone was its first viral TikTok video, which garnered over one million organic views, highlighting the growing influence of short-form content in travel promotion.
Chief Marketing Officer Srishti Narayan credited the success to an integrated marketing strategy, emphasizing the power of digital platforms in connecting with global travellers. “These results demonstrate the effectiveness of our digital-first approach in promoting Fiji as an irresistible destination. Thanks to the dedication of our digital and marketing teams, we’ve not only reached more travellers but also engaged them in meaningful ways,” she said in a media release.
Beyond engagement, Tourism Fiji delivered tangible benefits to local operators. Lead generation soared, with 37,221 leads directed to tourism businesses, marking a 131 per cent increase from 2023. Additionally, 27,176 clicks on promotional offers were recorded, up 119 per cent from the previous year, driving greater exposure and bookings for Fiji’s tourism industry.
Tourism Fiji’s website traffic surged throughout the year, achieving an all-time high in November and December. Monthly sessions surpassed one million for the first time, reaching 1.38 million in both months. This represented a 574 per cent increase in November and 282 per cent in December compared to 2023. Across the year, the website engaged 5.19 million users, a 209 per cent increase, culminating in 8.93 million total sessions—an impressive 313 per cent growth.
As Tourism Fiji continues its digital momentum, plans are underway for further innovations in 2025. With a focus on digital expansion, brand engagement, and industry collaboration, the organization aims to sustain global interest and strengthen Fiji’s tourism sector, ensuring long-term growth and prosperity for local businesses.
