Fiji’s resurgent economy and expanding opportunities will be in sharp focus as Australian and Fijian business and government leaders converge on the Gold Coast for the 29th Australia Fiji Business Forum from 22 to 24 October 2025. Hosted by the Australia Fiji Business Council with the Fiji Australia Business Council, the Forum continues its long tradition as the most important annual dialogue on bilateral trade and investment.

The three-day programme opens with a welcome by Zane Yoshida, President of the Australia Fiji Business Council, followed by keynote addresses from Hon Manoa Kamikamica, Fiji’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, SMEs and Communications, and senior representatives of the Australian Government.

Justin Smirk, Pacific Economist at Westpac, will outline the country’s growth outlook. Sessions will spotlight the private-sector landscape with contributions from Saud Minam (ADB), Kelera Cavuilati (Market Development Facility), and Kamal Chetty (Investment Fiji) on investment promotion outcomes.

Sector-specific panels will explore business process outsourcing with Josefa Wivou (Outsource Fiji) and Lisa Apted (KPMG Fiji), and agricultural exports with Hon Tomasi Tunabuna, Avi Rebera (Australian Office of Drug Control) and Zane Yoshida (The Calmer Co). Infrastructure, sustainability and digitalisation feature strongly on day two, with CEOs from Fiji Ports Corporation, Energy Fiji Limited, Water Authority of Fiji and Fiji Roads Authority outlining their project pipelines.

The programme also includes sessions on green climate funding led by Professor Paul Dargusch (Monash Business School), trade facilitation with Tim Houghton (Austrade) and Tim Martin (PTI Australia), and a closing discussion on sports diplomacy as an emerging economic driver.

With its mix of plenary sessions, networking receptions and social events, the 29th Australia Fiji Business Forum offers unparalleled access to decision-makers shaping Fiji’s next decade of development.
