Fiji’s international borders will fully open on 1 December 2021 for all fully vaccinated travellers from Travel Partner Countries including Australia.
The Australian market has enthusiastically embraced Fiji’s reopening. Bookings and interest in travelling to Fiji his high amongst all categories of visitors – business, tourists and visiting friends and relatives.
Such is the demand that Fiji Airways has increased flights and seats available for travel from Sydney to Nadi on 1 December 2021 and two separate flights by Fiji Airways largest aircraft, the Airbus A350, will be the flagships of the reopening on that day. Qantas and Virgin Australia will commence their services shortly afterwards.
This is an important moment for Fiji. The border closures in March 2020 impacted heavily on individuals who worked in the tourism and associated industries and tens of thousands of them were laid off from their jobs. Many businesses went into hibernation or worse. The national economy contracted by about 20%.
Now Fiji is at the start of its recovery. Many parties in Fiji have been working assiduously to prepare Fiji for this moment – including the Fijian government and its various agencies, tourism businesses and service providers to the tourism industry as well as retail businesses.
By attending this free of charge webinar arranged by the Australia Fiji Business Council you can learn about what your travel experience to Fiji will be like as Fiji re-opens including:
- covid-safe departure experience from an Australian airport and inflight experience.
- covid-safe arrival and processing experience at Nadi airport – from tarmac to taxi.
- covid-safe arrangements for local travel for visitors – from terminal to hotel, and services available at hotel tour desks.
- covid-safe experience at your holiday location – from reception to room to restaurant to pool.
- covid-safe stay in Fiji from a health perspective whether for business or tourism, and facilities available to assist you.
