Business leaders from Fiji and Australia will gather in Suva next month for the 2026 Fiji-Australia and Australia-Fiji Business Councils Joint Forum, with this year’s event focusing on helping companies navigate an increasingly complex regional business environment.
The forum will be held from 27 to 29 August at the Grand Pacific Hotel under the theme Strategy for a Shifting Landscape.
Recognised as the flagship annual meeting of the two councils, the forum will bring together senior business executives, policymakers, investors and entrepreneurs from both countries to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping one of the Pacific’s most important commercial relationships.
Organisers say this year’s programme will examine how businesses can respond to changing economic conditions while identifying new areas for bilateral cooperation. Discussions are expected to cover trade and investment, tourism, innovation and the opportunities emerging from the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, alongside the enduring importance of the Australia-Fiji Vuvale Partnership.
The forum comes at a time of growing momentum in the Australia-Fiji relationship. Australia remains Fiji’s largest trading partner and one of its leading sources of investment, while bilateral trade is estimated to exceed A$2 billion annually. The two countries have also strengthened cooperation across infrastructure, education, tourism, skills development and regional economic integration in recent years.
Organisers have promised an extensive programme featuring ministerial representatives and prominent business leaders from both countries, with the full speaker line-up to be announced shortly. In addition to conference sessions, delegates will have opportunities to build new partnerships through networking events and business discussions designed to generate practical commercial outcomes.
Early bird registrations are open until 15 July, with discounted accommodation available at the Grand Pacific Hotel until 26 July, subject to availability. Registrations close on 20 August.
The annual forum has become one of the leading business events on the Australia-Fiji calendar, providing a platform for industry and government leaders to exchange ideas, strengthen commercial links and identify new opportunities for growth across the Pacific.
