The second edition of the Fiji Trade & Investment Review 2026-27 was officially launched on 28 August during the 30th Australia Fiji Business Forum at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.
The launch followed the address by Australia Fiji Business Council President Zane Yoshida, who reflected on four decades of Australia-Fiji business engagement and the opportunities emerging as the bilateral commercial relationship enters a new phase.
Joining Yoshida on stage for the launch were AFBC Chief Executive Officer Leata Alaimoana, Investment Fiji Chief Executive Officer Kamal Chetty, and the publication’s co-editors Dev Nadkarni and Samantha Magick.
The Fiji Trade & Investment Review 2026-27 is produced through a collaboration between the Australia Fiji Business Council, Investment Fiji and Islands Business. Investment Fiji said the publication provides practical information for potential, new and established investors seeking to participate in Fiji’s continuing economic growth. The first edition was launched in 2025 by Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Manoa Kamikamica in Suva.
The new edition examines Fiji’s evolving economic and investment landscape, including the Government’s fiscal settings and economic outlook, infrastructure development and climate resilience, investment reforms, renewable energy incentives and the drive to reduce regulatory barriers.
It also explores opportunities across tourism, agriculture and agribusiness, manufacturing, exports, digital transformation and other sectors that are expected to contribute to a more diversified economy. The publication combines economic and sector information with business perspectives, investment opportunities, case studies and practical guidance for companies considering Fiji.
The Review was first launched in July 2025 following discussions between AFBC and the Fiji Government about the need for a dedicated publication that could present the country’s trade and investment story to regional and international audiences.
The inaugural edition was developed with Investment Fiji and editorial support from Islands Business and was intended to fill an information gap for investors by bringing together sector insights, regulatory information and examples of successful investment in one publication. It was designed from the outset as an annual publication, supported by digital updates between editions.
The launch of the second edition at the Forum reinforced that original objective, providing businesses with a current guide to the opportunities, reforms and industries shaping Fiji’s next phase of growth.
